Privacy Policy
Overview
CPU Tools shows information about your phone's hardware and lets you run simple hardware tests. We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not sell your personal information. This policy explains what data the app and the third-party services inside it handle.
Data that stays on your device
Device specifications, sensor readings, battery and network statistics, test results and your settings are read and stored on your device only. They are not uploaded to us.
- Camera – used only by the flashlight and camera tests. No photos or video are recorded or sent anywhere.
- Approximate location – used only to calculate the Qibla direction on your device. It is not stored or transmitted by us.
- Bluetooth, biometrics, microphone/speaker, vibration – used only to run the corresponding hardware test when you start it.
- Notifications – used for the live monitor's ongoing notification and for occasional app announcements. You can turn them off at any time in system settings.
Third-party services
The app uses the following services, which may collect data under their own privacy policies:
| Service | Purpose | Data |
|---|---|---|
| Google AdMob | Showing ads | Advertising ID, IP address, device and app interaction data |
| Google Analytics for Firebase | Usage statistics | App instance ID, app events, device model, OS version, country |
| Firebase Crashlytics | Crash reports | Crash traces, device state at the time of a crash, installation ID |
| OneSignal | Push notifications | Push token, device type, language, notification interactions |
Policies: Google, Firebase, OneSignal.
Consent and choices
Where required by law (for example in the EEA and UK), the app asks for your consent before personalised ads are shown, using Google's consent tool. You can change your choice at any time from the app's Settings screen. You can also reset your advertising ID or opt out of personalised ads in your device settings, and turn off notifications in system settings.
Data retention and security
Data collected by the third-party services is kept for the periods set by those providers. All data is transmitted over encrypted connections. Uninstalling the app removes all data stored on your device.
Children
CPU Tools is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data. Because we do not hold an account or profile for you, most requests are handled by the providers above; contact us and we will help.
Changes
We may update this policy. The effective date above shows the latest version.
